The California Friday Night Live Partnership supports and empowers the statewide Friday Night Live network, providing leadership, training, and resources to ensure programs meet the needs of young people.
The California Friday Night Live Collaborative (CFNLC) Leadership Team (LT) consists of representatives from each of the 6 CFNLC Regions. Each representative is elected by the county coordinators of that region and represents the interests of those counties. Leadership Team members represent the collaborative voice to inform policy, support competency, and provide direction to the Friday Night Live system.
The California Friday Night Live Partnership (CFNLP) provides support and guidance to Friday Night Live (FNL) programs across California through funding, technical assistance, and resources that foster positive youth development and ensure program integrity. The CFNLP is housed within the Tulare County Office of Education (TCOE) in Visalia, CA.
FNL was developed in 1984 by the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP), now the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), and the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS). In 1996, in response to the rapid growth of FNL programs in nearly every county in the state, the CFNLP was established to provide programmatic oversight and field support to county FNL programs.
Currently, the CFNLP trains, supports, and is the fiscal intermediary for counties that implement FNL programs for young people in elementary, middle, and high school, as well as the FNL Mentoring program (FNLM), and the California Youth Council (CYC). The CFNLP supports FNL programs by:
Providing training and technical assistance
Identifying, facilitating, and maintaining organizational partnerships
Designing and developing innovative programming
Administering regular program evaluation and adaptation
Disseminating current research and resources
Statewide program support, funder relations, partner opportunities, coalitions & committees, CFNLP oversight
Technical assistance & training (conferences, webinars, resources), CYC oversight, FNL branding
CFNLP deliverables & budget oversight, SUBG, policy priorities, legislative contacts
Research & program development, CFNLC support, PIR, RBS, website (CORE & Files)
